Location Recce

I chose this particular forest because it’s a spot that people usually run/walk in. This is exactly what I need for my script and plot as it matches the one I envisioned for it.

The running path will be the main focus in the woods so I can take the necessary shots. The footpath has roots sticking out of the ground and also goes in a straight line. This allows the camera to follow the runner in a constant shot.

The forest is located nearby to the city which allows me to get the specific end shot.

There is usually also a lot of foliage and fallen leaves. This will be very helpful with sound effects of wind in the trees and also sounds of character running.

Practical aspects to pay attention to:

The forest has a running path which becomes muddy once it rains.

The location is best when the weather is warm and therefore there is no mud but just dirt. Therefore I must film on sunny days. The location is also very close to where I live and is therefore easily accessible and I can always come back if I need to retake some shots.
