I was tasked with finding a song to create a music video for because that's what we do here in the Media Studies A Level area!
While doing in-depth research I was debating which song I shall create a music video for and I remained with 3 songs, 2 of which had to go. The songs I had debated over were:
8 Graves - Bury Me Low
Unlike Pluto - 8 Legged Dreams
Whitey - DOGCULTURE

8 Graves - Bury Me Low:
8 Graves is an alternative rock and future grunge duo from New York City. The song (as much as I like it) had to suffer my imaginary guillotine (haha funny they have a song named guillotine) because it did not fit the jumpy like music vibe I was going for!
The use of "beat drops" were perfect in my opinion and the lyrics of the song were interesting to say the least. ( I mainly focus on the instrumental parts of a song but lyrics are just a bit important for my music video :) ) But still the song was not a very enjoyable idea for me to create the music video for.
Compared to the song I have chosen for my project, this song is indeed darker in nature. I also believe that recording a music video for this song, will lead to more complicated needs in terms of props and location.

Unlike Pluto - 8 Legged Dreams
Unlike Pluto is an EDM Producer/Singer/Songwriter from Atlanta. This song has been decided (by me) to continue into the final round and become the "chosen" song. I really enjoy the music and I believe that creating a music video for "8 Legged Dreams" is going to be a fun challenge, because there is no pre-existing music video for this song.
This allows me to have full freedom without having "inspiration" from an existing music video.
The song creates this darkened mood and has some very catchy instrumental sections that I'll have some fun with.

Whitey - DOGCULTURE
Nathan Joseph White also known as Whitey is an English songwriter, musician, multi-instrumentalist and soundtrack composer. From what I can tell while looking at listening charts, Whitey is not very well known, this does not mean that his music is bad.
Through a friend I discovered Whitey's songs and instantly fell for the interesting 2000s style of music that he composes. The lyrics point towards a deeper meaning and just like the previous songs, also has some very catchy instrumental sections that reminds me of early 2000s songs.
I did not pick this song as my main project because I believed the lyrics for this song would not have the same deeper meaning to me as it would for its composer: Whitey. But I might rethink not using this song, as it does have some interesting lyrics that I believe can come to life through editing and give people a smile. (Like myself, I like making myself laugh) I'm mostly likely going to use the song in my preliminary work!
